LOST KEYS
It happened just like a damn movie. I was cleaning the boat in bad weather. It was starting to rain lightly and I did not want to get totally wet. I got on the dock from the boat after I was done cleaning and went to clip my keys to my belt loop and I let go......
Down they fell and my mind thought, they are lost in the drink for sure. However, they hit the dock! And o so slowly slid over the side and fell into the water. There was no hope in retrieving them. For those of you who do not know the St Johns River very well. It is black as night and no one knows what lurks in the silty mud beneath. Even if I did jump in, I wouldn't likely be able to find them. I called in some friends and after two hours of being in the cold and rain was rescued and able to come home. Several people thought I should try a magnet, however, my dad said try a long magnet from Lowes that is used for picking up screws and nails. Two days later off to Lowes I went, with the wife in tow. She was telling me the whole time I had no hope at finding the keys. We tested the magnet and it BARELY pulled my spare set off the ground, but I figured things are lighter beneath the water and it was worth a shot. I even let her know I am going to rub this in hard if I pull this off.
